Celebrate Harmony Week with Ballarat Cemeteries and help share the stories that make our community so special.
Harmony Week is from Monday 16 March to Sunday 22 March 2026
Orange, the official colour of Harmony Week, represents connection, meaningful conversation, freedom of ideas, and mutual respect. This year, Ballarat Cemeteries invites you to take part in our Harmony Week Orange Flag Project – a heartfelt way to honour the rich cultural heritage within our cemeteries.
Families and visitors are warmly encouraged to collect a free orange flag from the administration office at Ballarat New Cemetery and place it on their loved one’s grave. Each flag represents a story, a culture, and a legacy. Together, these flags will create a powerful visual display throughout Harmony Week, celebrating the diversity that strengthens our community.
Our staff will also be proudly wearing orange throughout the week to show their support for inclusion and cultural diversity. In line with our sustainability values, these items have been sourced from local op shops.
We invite you to join us in this meaningful tribute – reflect, remember, and celebrate the cultures that shape our shared history.
